Welcome to my website
Hi, I am Andrea, graduate student originally from Italy and currently based in Finland. I am curious about a wide range of topics, including Linux technologies, free and open source software, photography, and finance. In my spare time, I enjoy staying active outdoors through sports such as swimming, running, cycling, skating, and skiing. I also like falling asleep while reading books: mostly fictions (sci-fi, fantasy, crime, and romance), but sometimes essays and biographies too.
In my PhD, I am exploring topics in image processing and restoration, with particular interest in noise estimation and filtering. I am also interested in image-video compression, as well as the color statistics of natural images.
